The Application and System content files can be easily downloaded and exported on your Intranet. Server E-Learning content cannot be downloaded via MVLS as it is a hands-on lab training module, users have online instructor led courses to guide them through the modules.

There is a step by step program to implementing a good Software Asset Management program.
Traditionally SAM (Software Asset Management) discussions have focused on compliancy. The approach was to purchase a discovery tool, count the licenses you own and purchase the difference (if required) between owned and installed. Whilst this was greeted positively by the software manufacturers, it did not resolve the underlying management control issues in why and how those discrepancies occurred.
SAM has now evolved into a management solution with its own ITIL guide and ISO standard. It is now about ensuring you have the control over the IT environment, that the assets are utilised, and redeployed for maximum value. With control and reporting facilities, compliancy is more of a by-product. Since there are many stages and processes involved within the software lifecycle, so it is impossible to offer an “off the shelf solution”. As a result, BT Basilica has designed a unique SAM Assessment Service to enable a completely bespoke solution for our clients.
The assessment would ordinarily take approximately half a day, working alongside the person who manages the responsibility of SAM within the organisation. The assessment questions cover many areas of the business including IS, Procurement, Human Resources and Finance so it may not be possible to get all the answers at the initial discussion. It is split into sections to allow the project to be addressed in bite-sized chunks. These areas include users, auditing, mergers, risks and usage.
